2009 Ford Foundation Diversity Fellowships Program for Achieving Excellence in College and University Teaching
Administered by The National Academies (Fellowships Office of Policy and Global Affairs)
The Ford Foundation Diversity Fellowships seek to increase the diversity of the nation’s college and university faculties by increasing their ethnic and racial diversity, to maximize the educational benefits of diversity, and to increase the number of professors who can and will use diversity as a resource for enriching the education of all students. To facilitate this goal, the Fellowship grants awards at the Predoctoral, Dissertation and, Postdoctoral levels to students who demonstrate excellence, a commitment to diversity and a desire to enter the professoriate.

Do you know a K-12 educator who would make a difference in Washington, DC, as an Einstein Fellow, someone who could provide an educator's perspective to legislators and program officers?

The Einstein Fellowship program brings outstanding mathematics, science, and technology education teachers to Washington, DC, to spend a school year working on Capitol Hill or in one of several participating Federal agencies. The purpose of the program, as stated in the Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Act of 1994, is to provide outstanding educators with an opportunity to serve in the public policy arena and to bring the expertise, unique insights, and know-how of classroom teachers to the Congress and appropriate branches of the Federal government.

Research

East Asica and Pacific Summer Institutes (EAPSI)
International summer research program for U.S. graduate students in science and engineering provides first-hand research experience in Australia, China, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Singapore, or Taiwan; an introduction to the science and science policy infrastructure of the respective location; and orientation to the society, culture and language.

EcoTrends Project
A collaborative effort among several agencies and institutions to make long-term ecological data easy to access, analyze, and compare across sites. This website is a portal to: (1) a large and diverse collection of standardized long-term ecological datasets; (2) unique data exploration, graphing and synthesis tools; and (3) information about participating research sites and their parent agencies. These datasets, tools and information are freely available to researchers who wish to pursue cross-site synthetic studies or students interested in learning more about resources available to them.

GK-12 Regional Conference
Purdue University
Purdue is hosting a GK-12 Regional Conference on November 7-8, 2008. NSF fellows, teachers, evaluators, and program staff are invited to share best practices; present talks and posters on their graduate research; discuss models for GK-12 program sustainability and institutionalization; and network with other GK-12 participants.
